Requirements
  • 8 years of experience in product design, with at least 4 years managing and mentoring SaaS design and UX professionals
  • Expertise in leading and mentoring teams of 5+ product designers and user researchers, building a healthy environment where they can do their best work
  • Experience hiring, growing, and retaining great design and UX talent
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, leadership, and strategic thinking and design skills
  • Proven track record of applying user-centered design principles to complex software products, with an innate attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively tell compelling stories for design concepts, ideas, decisions and solutions to stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience designing across web and mobile
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, to define product design strategy and roadmaps
  • Figma and Whimsical, etc
  • A stellar product sense and appreciation for great design

Responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end Fleetio user experience
  • Maintain optimal quality, consistency, speed, and efficiency in our design work
  • Ensure high-quality work in alignment with our vision, mission, goals, and OKRs
  • Design and scale the Design org, steering UX operations and processes
  • Define the product design, design system, and design ops strategy
  • Guide, challenge, and support a high-performing team to craft remarkable and intuitive user experiences that meet the needs of our customers
  • Foster team member development and career growth
  • Guide conversations to remove blockers and encourage collaboration across teams
  • Ensure our design processes run smoothly and clearly, scaling with our growth and targets
  • Work with cross-functional team members and stakeholders, including leaders in product management, engineering, product marketing, data analysis, sales, success, marketing, and a Principal Designer
  • Effectively communicate and present design solutions across various mediums and fidelities, to stakeholders and product designers, while defending design decisions and incorporating feedback into the design cycle
  • Develop and implement practices, processes, systems, and methodologies to facilitate continuous discovery and delivery
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest design best practices, trends, tools, and technologies, and apply them to our product design process
  • Raise the bar across our products by advocating for user-centered product roadmaps, interface guidelines and design patterns, and customer insights
  • Develop deep empathy for our customers and use research to inform design solutions
  • Engage with customers to deeply understand their needs, goals, pain points, workflows, and operations
  • Launch a user / UX research function and practice
  • Elevate UX writing/copy
  • Leverage data to understand how product changes affect user behaviors and attitudes across different products and platforms over time
