Requirements
  • Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Information Systems, or job-related field.
  • Two (2) years of work-related experience in managing infrastructure platforms, IT operations tools, or governance workflows.
  • Expertise in at least one platform area (e.g., configuration management database, information technology service management tools, or monitoring systems).
  • Experience leading system configuration, documentation, audits, and platform lifecycle efforts.
  • Experience managing information technology infrastructure lifecycle, security compliance, and automation tools.
  • Knowledge of IT governance policies and ITIL and ITSM frameworks.
  • Familiar with scripting, automation, data integrity tools, and platform application programming interfaces.
  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintain a good driving record; willing to provide a 10-year driving history; must comply with Dallas County Code regarding driving history.
  • Individuals with access to criminal justice databases must pass a national fingerprint-based records check prior to placement and maintain the ability to pass it during employment.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the lead administrator and functional expert for core infrastructure tools such as Ivanti, CMDB, asset management systems, and monitoring platforms.
  • Lead daily operations, configuration, and maintenance of infrastructure process systems; ensure systems are secured, integrated, maintained, and aligned with policy and business requirements.
  • Support high-level troubleshooting, automation, permissions management, and exception handling; establish platform governance, naming conventions, and record management standards.
  • Monitor system health and performance; escalate platform or process risks to IT leadership; oversee platform-related service queues, change logs, and audit trails.
  • Guide execution of infrastructure lifecycle events such as patch cycles, equipment refreshes, or license renewals.
  • Lead planning and strategy for enhancements to infrastructure administration platforms and workflows; design and implement platform automations, workflows, templates, and permission structures.
  • Partner with enterprise architects, cybersecurity, and compliance teams to plan secure and compliant process solutions.
  • Evaluate new platform features, integrations, and vendor roadmaps; provide recommendations to management.
  • Translate business and technical needs into optimized system designs and process flows; create solution documentation including flow diagrams, risk assessments, and system logic.
  • Lead or participate in tool migrations, upgrades, or cross-platform integrations; maintain awareness of service delivery objectives and align platforms to evolving County IT goals.
  • Champion data integrity, platform stability, and compliance with regulatory or internal policy; conduct regular platform audits and drive corrective actions; analyze performance metrics and logs to recommend enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain automation for data validation, ticket routing, notifications, or reporting; ensure system documentation, change records, and audit trails are current and accessible.
  • Collaborate with engineers and service desk staff to streamline recurring processes; drive improvements in service quality, platform usability, and data governance.
  • Lead retrospectives and lessons-learned sessions after major infrastructure events or audits.
