Requirements
- Lived experience with sustained recovery.
- Experience working with young adults, including understanding their developmental needs, feelings, physical characteristics, and emotional challenges during early recovery from substance use disorder.
- Knowledge of available recovery resources in local Massachusetts communities.
- A valid Massachusetts driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and current proof of insurance.
- An acceptable CORI and SORI background record check as required by the program.
Responsibilities
- Use personal recovery from substances to help other young people.
- Provide young people with a voice in their communities.
- Plan recovery activities that bring young people together.
- Run young people peer support groups.
- Provide education and support to young people.
- Participate as part of a team of recovery specialists who support one another.
- Organize and participate in community recovery events in the local area.
- Help other young people find their recovery pathway.
- Participate in a statewide group of young people who are in recovery.
- Drive as required by the role.
