Requirements
  • Lived experience with sustained recovery.
  • Experience working with young adults, including understanding their developmental needs, feelings, physical characteristics, and emotional challenges during early recovery from substance use disorder.
  • Knowledge of available recovery resources in local Massachusetts communities.
  • A valid Massachusetts driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and current proof of insurance.
  • An acceptable CORI and SORI background record check as required by the program.
Responsibilities
  • Use personal recovery from substances to help other young people.
  • Provide young people with a voice in their communities.
  • Plan recovery activities that bring young people together.
  • Run young people peer support groups.
  • Provide education and support to young people.
  • Participate as part of a team of recovery specialists who support one another.
  • Organize and participate in community recovery events in the local area.
  • Help other young people find their recovery pathway.
  • Participate in a statewide group of young people who are in recovery.
  • Drive as required by the role.
