Support the integration of emerging construction technologies, including drone/UAS surveying, point clouds, LiDAR, and reality-capture data.
Perform other survey, CAD, and construction technology duties as required.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with Trimble Business Center (TBC).
Experience with Trimble GNSS receivers, robotic total stations, or Trimble Access.
Experience with heavy highway, roadway, bridge, or other heavy civil construction.
Experience developing construction staking/layout drawings.
Experience with earthwork quantities and volume calculations.
Experience with 3D construction modeling and machine-control models.
Experience working with point clouds, LiDAR, or reality-capture data.
Experience processing drone/UAS survey data.
Familiarity with MicroStation/OpenRoads.
Experience working on DOT or Tollway projects, particularly IDOT or Illinois Tollway projects.

We are seeking a Survey CAD Manager to join our team and support major roadway and heavy civil construction projects throughout the Chicago area.
This position combines surveying, CAD drafting, construction layout, and 3D modeling. The successful candidate will work closely with survey crews, project engineers, superintendents, and project managers to transform field survey data and design information into accurate, practical deliverables that support construction operations.

Responsibilities
Process GPS/GNSS, robotic total station, and other field survey data.
Convert field survey information into accurate CAD drawings and construction models.
Develop and maintain existing-condition surfaces, digital terrain models (DTMs), alignments, profiles, and cross sections.
Prepare construction layout and staking drawings for field survey crews.
Assist with construction layout, verification, and troubleshooting of field conditions.
Compare design plans with actual field conditions and identify discrepancies.
Prepare as-built drawings and documentation.
Support earthwork quantity calculations and verification.
Develop and maintain 3D models used for construction, machine control, and field layout.
Review survey and CAD data for accuracy and perform quality control/quality assurance checks.
Coordinate with project engineers, superintendents, foremen, survey crews, and project managers.
Assist with RFIs, design revisions, quantity documentation, and other project-related technical requests.
