  • Some high school coursework is required; completion of high school is an asset.
  • Up to one year of related experience or experience working in customer service is required.
  • Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully, including The Salvation Army Abuse Registry, and provide an original copy of a background check screening.
  • Ability to comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and take direction.
  • Ability to lift and move kettle equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling donor, volunteer, and organizational information.
  • Availability to work shifts during days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and Monday through Saturday.
  • Availability to work at multiple locations on the North Shore.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work in cold weather.
  • Willingness to support The Salvation Army’s mission and purpose.
  • Ability to wear appropriate Salvation Army identification while on duty.
Responsibilities
  • Remain at the kettle for the full shift until relieved and ensure the security of donations received.
  • Respond to questions from potential donors regarding Salvation Army ministries and programs.
  • Present a positive image and represent The Salvation Army professionally while on duty.
  • Treat Salvation Army property with due care and caution.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
