Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of professional software development experience using Core Java.
  • Good understanding of data structures and algorithms.
  • Good understanding of object-oriented design and commonly used design patterns.
  • Expertise in Core Java multithreading, collections, the Java Virtual Machine, and garbage collection.
  • Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Representational State Transfer, Java Persistence API, Java Message Service messaging, and ActiveMQ.
  • Experience with Bash, Perl, Python, or another scripting language.
  • Good communication skills, including technical writing and the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical customers.
Responsibilities
  • Follow team guidelines for quality and consistency during application design and development phases.
  • Independently handle project activities related to builds and deployments.
  • Create software tests and verify software functionality and quality.
  • Support production applications as issues arise during and after business hours.
  • Support deployments during maintenance windows.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and optimize applications.
  • Work with product management to understand new requirements.
  • Follow company software development processes and standards.

Space Intelligence secures Series A funding to expand forest mapping dataset to 35+ countries

Space Intelligence has completed its Series A funding round, led by AzurX Space Ventures with participation from Intercontinental Exchange. The Edinburgh-based company uses satellite data for high-precision nature mapping. The funds will expand Space Intelligence's forest mapping database to support forest carbon projects and monitor environmental impacts across supply chains. The company currently covers 640 million hectares across seven countries. By Q2 2025, Space Intelligence plans to expand coverage to over 35 additional countries, creating what it claims will be the largest audit-grade nature mapping dataset available. New data products enabling near real-time deforestation monitoring are scheduled for Q4 this year. Founded by Dr Murray Collins and Professor Ed Mitchard, the company has grown to over 50 staff, including 20 mapping scientists and ecologists.

ICE backs Isometric's $50M Series A for AI-powered carbon certification platform

Isometric has closed its Series A funding round at $50 million with backing from Intercontinental Exchange, operator of the New York Stock Exchange. The investment brings Isometric's total capital raised to $75 million across seed and Series A rounds. The certification platform has been contracted to certify more than 16 million tonnes of carbon removal, making it the largest certifier globally by contracted volume. Isometric has since expanded beyond carbon removal into industrial emissions, energy, fuels and materials, with more than 200 projects now using its platform. Isometric's AI-powered Certify platform works with independent verifiers to examine data supporting sustainability claims, reducing certification timelines from months to hours. Customers include Microsoft, Anglo American, Boeing and JPMorgan Chase.

ICE hits record 16.8M interest rate futures open interest in August, ADV up 14% YoY

Intercontinental Exchange reported strong August operating metrics, with double-digit year-over-year growth in average daily volume and open interest across major asset classes. The company achieved record interest rate futures open interest of 16.8 million lots on 31 August. Agriculture and metals contracts saw particularly strong growth, with average daily volume rising substantially year over year and open interest increasing more than half. Overall, August data showed 14% average daily volume growth and 19% open interest growth. The company's narrative projects $12.3 billion revenue and $4.6 billion earnings by 2029, requiring 5.7% yearly revenue growth. Analysts' estimates vary, with pessimistic projections showing revenue reaching $12.4 billion with flat earnings near $4.0 billion.

NYSE parent ICE invests in tZERO, licenses 103 blockchain patents for tokenised securities platform

Intercontinental Exchange, parent of the New York Stock Exchange, has signed agreements with tZERO to build infrastructure for a tokenised securities platform. tZERO will serve as design partner for digital transfer-agent and broker-dealer systems supporting on-chain settlement. ICE will invest in tZERO's latest funding round and license its blockchain patent portfolio, which spans 23 patent families and 103 patents covering token lifecycles, compliance-aware transfer logic, and smart contract frameworks. tZERO is expected to seek approval as a digital transfer agent on ICE's NYSE-affiliated Digital Trading Platform. The companies will also evaluate using tZERO's tokenised assets for collateral management across ICE's clearing houses. The partnership marks tZERO's deepest tie to a major exchange operator. No timeline for regulatory approval or platform launch was disclosed.
