Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in taxation or accounting; other advanced degree or training
  • 2+ years of relevant large public accounting firm or private industry experience, including Indirect tax (sales and use, property, excise tax) experience.
  • Ability to work effectively with Tax, Finance, Legal and other departments in the U.S. and other countries.
Responsibilities
  • Assisting in the compilation of Indirect tax transactional data for return compliance to ensure timely and accurate filings and payments.
  • Reviewing Indirect tax accounting, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Partnering with business units to support tax determinations on procurements.
  • Performing real-time analytics on GM’s self-assessment of use tax on purchases
  • Supporting on-going system redesigns and projects from a tax perspective
  • Ensuring tax requirements are met on various GM new product initiatives.
  • Compiling and analyzing support for Indirect sales and use tax audits
  • Researching regulatory requirements on sales and purchase transactions
  • Working on special cross-functional projects
