About the job
- At least 6 months of serving experience within the last 5 years is required.
- Successful completion of the Food and Beverage test with a score of 80% or above is required.
- Pro Serve certification is required.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada; the hotel cannot assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
- Deliver food and beverage service at banquet functions, weddings, conferences, meetings, and special events.
- Prepare event spaces by setting tables, arranging chairs, placing linens, and executing details according to event orders and Fairmont standards.
- Welcome guests and provide professional, personalized service throughout each event.
- Serve plated meals, buffets, receptions, coffee breaks, and beverage functions efficiently and attentively.
- Understand event menus, beverage offerings, and service sequences to answer guest questions.
- Anticipate guest needs and support an exceptional event experience.
- Collaborate with Banquet, Culinary, and Conference Services teams to execute events.
- Set up, execute, and tear down event spaces while maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Monitor event timelines to ensure service is delivered accurately and on schedule.
- Respond to guest requests and concerns, resolving issues according to service standards.
- Follow health, safety, sanitation, and food-handling procedures.
- Deliver luxury service consistent with the Fairmont brand promise.
- Foster an inclusive environment for guests and colleagues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
