Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of medicine.
  • Be board eligible and become certified within one year of hire, or be board certified in occupational medicine, family practice, emergency medicine, or internal medicine.
  • Have one to two years of experience.
  • Be able to perform the listed physical and sensory demands, including standing, walking, therapeutic procedures, and occasionally lifting or moving patients and objects up to the specified weights.
Responsibilities
  • Provide occupational health and urgent care injury and illness care and follow-up evaluations.
  • Perform histories and physical examinations for pre-placement, annual, return-to-duty, and executive physicals.
  • Review histories, physicals, and study results to determine employment placement.
  • Perform medical review officer duties for drug testing if certified.
  • Meet with employers to discuss health and safety needs and conduct workplace tours and other on-site assessments.
  • Maintain knowledge of the Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Act and OSHA recordability requirements.
  • Serve as a resource and consultant to client companies and OccuMed Resources staff regarding occupational medicine and OSHA regulations.
  • Assist with developing, implementing, and revising policies and procedures affecting medical practice, judgment, and occupational health service quality.
  • Coordinate work with physicians and staff at other occupational health and urgent care locations.
  • Supervise Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners.
  • Perform and direct medical quality improvement activities.
  • Act as a liaison with the medical community.
  • Demonstrate competency in assigned areas of responsibility.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in an urgent care and occupational health setting is preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish is desirable.
