About the job

Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in the design, development, or sourcing of plastic injection mold tooling.
  • Experience managing multiple new tool builds simultaneously with outside tool shops, from design review through tool trials and approval.
  • Ability to read and interpret part prints, mold drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and dimensional layout reports.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks for part and tool design reviews.
  • Strong internal and external relationship and communication skills, including working with tool shops, design engineers, and plant floor teams.
  • Ability to travel 20–30% of the time, domestically and internationally, for design reviews and tool trials.
  • A valid passport or the ability to obtain one before the first international trip.
Responsibilities
  • Review injection-molded part design concepts with design engineering for tooling feasibility, cavitation, and manufacturability, and recommend part and tool design changes.
  • Develop tooling estimates for cost, timing, cavitation, and press size based on program needs, and solicit, compare, and recommend tool shop quotes.
  • Participate in part and tool design reviews to reach final designs capable of meeting customer requirements.
  • Kick off and track new injection mold tooling, lead tool design reviews with tool shops, approve tool design details, and ensure molding standards are applied.
  • Set up and attend molding trials at domestic and international tool shops and in the plant; review tool and part dimensional layouts and drive corrections to tooling and process discrepancies until the tool produces parts to print.

  • Provide technical oversight of production molds, working with the tooling supervisor, tooling technicians, tool setters, and molding operators.
  • Assist process engineering and production in troubleshooting current production tools; determine, schedule, track, and confirm corrective action results.
  • Input and maintain the history of mold maintenance and repairs on assigned tools, and use that history to guide repair, refurbishment, and replacement decisions.
  • Apply lessons learned from production tooling performance, including downtime, scrap, and repair trends, to new tool design.
  • Develop and update tooling standards as part of the tooling group.
  • Identify and implement current tooling technologies and techniques that improve tool performance, cost, or lead time.
  • Follow plant safety requirements for mold handling, trials, and work around molding equipment.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the Launch Director.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with multi-shot tooling, including 2-shot or 3-shot rotary and index molds.

  • Hands-on mold making or tool shop background.
  • Experience managing offshore tool builds, including in China or Europe.
  • Experience with scientific or decoupled molding principles.
  • An associate's degree or journeyman mold maker credential plus at least 8 years of injection mold tooling experience may be considered instead of a bachelor's degree.

Sika shares decline as organic growth slows on china weakness.

Sika shares decline as organic growth slows on china weakness. Published on 10/23/2026 at 04:45 am EDT By Michael Hennessey Sika shares fell after the Swiss chemicals and construction materials company reported slower quarterly organic growth as weakness in the Chinese construction industry weighed on sales. Sika shares opened more than 5% lower before paring some losses. The company on Friday reported sales growth of 4.8% in local currencies in the nine months to the end of September, to 8.71 billion Swiss francs ($10.62 billion). Organic growth in the nine-month period was 3.5%, with a positive acquisition effect of 1.3%. However, organic growth slowed to 4.6% in the third quarter, compared to 5.7% in the previous quarter. The third-quarter results were "less punchy" than second-quarter figures, Jefferies's Priyal Woolf noted, but did still show small beats to consensus. Sika said its material margin expanded by 40 basis points in the nine-month period to 55.4%, while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization rose 1.9% to 1.68 billion Swiss francs. However, nine-month sales in the Asia Pacific region fell 2.3% in local currencies, with the third quarter down 2.7%. The Chinese construction industry saw continued weakness in residential building and dragged on growth in the region. Despite the slowdown in organic growth, Sika reiterated its 2026 guidance. It expects local currency growth between 3% and 6% and an Ebitda margin between 19.0% and 19.5%.
