Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Graduation from an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program or equivalent is required.
  • Current ARRT certification and registration are required.
  • An active Maryland Radiologic Technologist license is required.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification is required.
  • A minimum of two years of CT Technologist experience is required.
Responsibilities
  • Select and perform the appropriate CT protocol based on the patient's clinical presentation according to established guidelines.
  • Select, review, and adjust technical factors to produce optimal CT images based on the patient's age and physical condition.
  • Position patients properly on the CT table and remove preventable artifacts that may interfere with image quality.
  • Complete the full examination, including appropriate paperwork, post-processing, and archiving.
  • Verify accurate and complete patient identifiers, procedure information, and other pertinent information.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy.
  • Operate CT scanners and accessory equipment using appropriate technical knowledge.
  • Maintain and clean all CT equipment according to established guidelines.
  • Keep the work area clean and orderly.
