HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT:
The Lead Developer, OMS (Order Management Systems) will play a key role within the Retail Technology organization, focusing on the business-critical Order Management platform. In this role, you will lead project delivery, support investigations, participate in software development, and collaborate closely with the business. Your expertise in AI, machine learning, omnichannel solutions, and inventory management will be essential to driving innovation and efficiency within our systems.
This role reports to the Director, Store and Order Management Technology in a hybrid schedule based in Atlanta.
Project/Initiative Delivery (40%):
The Lead Developer will be pivotal in implementing OMS solutions, with a focus on leveraging AI and machine learning for optimization.
Liaise with other internal IT resources (technical and functional) to execute business initiatives, ensuring alignment with omnichannel and inventory (IV) strategies.
Actively participate in brainstorming and working sessions, bringing innovative ideas to the table.
Translate business requirements into specific systems, applications, or process designs in collaboration with the Sr. System Analyst, Business Analyst, Solution Architect, or Manager of OMS.
Responsible for the configuration and development of technical solutions and for coordinating and supporting Integrated Testing.
Relationship Management and Communication (25%):
Facilitate decision-making with key stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment across the team.
Demonstrate exemplary communication skills in written, presentation, and meeting management contexts.
Collaborate with functional and system analysts, developers, architects, and project managers on a wide range of initiatives, including software development, package installation, and infrastructure upgrades.
Issue Resolution and SOX Compliance (25%):
Support OMS applications, including analysis and root cause resolution of operational issues as they arise, with a strong focus on compliance and AI-driven solutions.
Follow SOX guidelines defined by Corporate in support of service management and issue resolution.
Budgeting / Administration and others (10%):
Create and manage project documentation.
Support or provide input to PMs or Project Leads in estimating resources and effort.
WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:
Must haves:
6+ years of Sterling Commerce OMS experience (Preferably OMS on Cloud).
6+ years of experience in developing order management, retail, and/or supply chain management solutions.
6+ years of experience with database systems and writing SQL queries and procedures.
Expertise in AI and machine learning applications within the order management system.
Lead the design, development, and implementation of solutions on the IBM Sterling OMS platform, with a specialization in omnichannel and inventory (IV) management.
Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables to ensure timely completion of projects.
Hands-on experience with sourcing/scheduling, various fulfillment types (STH, BOPIS, BOSS), payment processing, OMS APIs, agents, and services.
Strong knowledge of Java, XML, XSL, and SQL querying skills.
Provide tier-3 support for production issues related to OMS, ensuring timely resolution.
Guide the team in best practices, code reviews, and advanced troubleshooting.
Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
Mentor and upskill developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Collaborate with business users, analysts, and technical teams to capture functional requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Design and implement new solutions, upgrades, configuration, development, training, and documentation to support business directives.
Experience in integrated testing, UAT management, problem resolution, debugging, and troubleshooting.
Lead the design, development, and implementation of solutions on the IBM Sterling OMS platform.
Preferred skills and experience:
Experience with other IBM Sterling products, such as Call Center.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
Understanding of emerging business solutions, technologies, and delivery methodologies in the retail and/or supply chain sector.
Ability to systematically gather relevant information from different sources to address an issue and make prompt, insightful decisions
