Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 1–3 years of quality assurance experience in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or related manufacturing industry is required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
  • Ability to assess risk and make decisions under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from groups of managers and coworkers.
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Solid interpersonal communication skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor process controls, including critical control points, allergen control, foreign material control, labeling requirements, package integrity, product specifications, Good Manufacturing Practices, pre-operational and operational sanitation, and personnel practices to ensure adherence to food safety and quality programs.
  • Collect incoming, in-process, and finished-product samples for microbiological or chemical testing, including aerobic plate count, yeast and mold, water activity, and moisture testing, and analyze product texture and shelf life.
  • Document, monitor, and analyze data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of products, raw materials, packaging materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Work with PNP and Product Development to gather samples and information for product testing.
  • Investigate customer feedback and internal incidents and provide timely responses.
  • Maintain accurate records of specifications and test results.
  • Perform quality audits, including acceptable quality limit audits, to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Perform regulatory formulation audits and quality checks for procedural compliance with product specifications.
  • Advise operations in real time on out-of-specification packaging, raw materials, and process deviations.
  • Lead incident and complaint investigations and verify the effectiveness of preventive measures and corrective actions.
  • Work with production management to rework products for routine quality issues.
  • Communicate with coworkers through face-to-face interactions, phones, email, and radio.
  • Support new-product transitions.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment so it operates efficiently and safely while following health and safety standards.
  • Promote a collaborative safety-first environment in line with company policies, values, code of ethics, and conduct standards.
