TruGreen selects Ketchum as its first PR AOR

TruGreen selects Ketchum as its first PR AOR. TruGreen's CMO Alyssa Puketza explained that the lawn care service provider's goal is to shine a spotlight on the 'expertise and care' that it brings to every yard.h FRANKLIN, TN: Lawn care service provider TruGreen has selected Ketchum as its first PR AOR. As part of the partnership, Ketchum will support TruGreen with earned media, corporate communications, brand reputation, thought leadership and partnership activations by bringing breakthrough creative strategic initiatives to life throughout the year, the firm said in a statement. The agency will also help lead an integrated PR strategy designed to build customer excitement around TruGreen's services. Ketchum was appointed following a competitive review earlier this year in which TruGreen invited a select group of agencies to participate, according to TruGreen CMO Alyssa Puketza. The firm was selected in the fall based on its "strategic thinking, creative approach and deep expertise in earned storytelling," Puketza said via email. "A great lawn makes people feel proud of their home and connected to their community. Our goal is to shine a spotlight on the expertise and care that TruGreen brings to every yard and to help homeowners understand how easy it is to get a lawn they love when they trust the pros," Puketza said. "Through this partnership, we'll bring fresh stories that celebrate healthier lawns, happier neighborhoods, and the confidence that comes from knowing your lawn is in professional hands." Ketchum has quickly onboarded and is already supporting several priority initiatives across marketing, brand reputation and corporate communications, Puketza explained. The account is being managed under the leadership of Ketchum's consumer lifestyle client portfolio, which houses specialists in corporate reputation, sports and earned media. Budget details of the partnership were not disclosed. "Ketchum joins us at an important moment for the brand. We've sharpened our message, strengthened our marketing engine and are ready to show up in bigger, more culturally relevant ways," Puketza said of the brand's first PR agency appointment. She explained that what excited TruGreen most is Ketchum's ability to bring "fresh thinking, earned expertise and creative energy" to help tell the brand's story with greater impact. "TruGreen has a powerful story to share and this partnership will help us connect with homeowners in new, more meaningful ways and reinforce the confidence that comes from trusting the pros," she added. Ketchum reported a 5% revenue decrease to $578 million globally and $359 million in the U.S. in 2024, according to PRWeek's Agency Business Report 2025. Earlier this year, Ketchum CEO Mike Doyle exited the agency after a 30-year run at the Omnicom firm. At the time, Omnicom PR Group CEO Chris Foster said there would be a national and global search for Doyle's replacement, at "the appropriate time," both internally and externally. In the interim, Foster is playing an active role in managing the firm. OPRG reported Q3 revenue of $377.2 million, a 7.5% decrease on an organic basis from the year prior. In addition to Ketchum, the group comprises FleishmanHillard, MMC and Porter Novelli. Omnicom is in the process of acquiring rival Interpublic Group in a deal announced last December. The acquisition, which will bring together IPG's PR firms including Dxtra Health and agency brands The Weber Shandwick Collective, Golin, Current Global, DeVries Global and R&CPMK with OPRG, is expected to close this month. Founded in 1973, TruGreen provides lawn, tree and shrub and mosquito, and pest control services. The company, which is majority-owned by Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, operates more than 290 locations across the U.S. and Canada with over 14,000 employees.
