Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, or trade certification.
  • Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office programs.
  • At least 10 years of experience.
  • A valid minimum Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
  • Solid experience with plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, or HVAC systems.
  • Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Bondable.
  • Experience working with one or more of the following trades: finish carpentry, rough carpentry, electrical, plumbing, roofing, flooring installation, cabinet installation, painting, or mechanical repair.
  • Ability to perform different tasks repetitively in a structured environment.
  • Ability to work with changing production demands and promote process improvements.
  • High degree of safety awareness.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, stay organized, and solve problems with attention to detail.
Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Facilities Manager and Facilities Administrator.
  • Handle basic repairs and maintenance to building exteriors and interiors.
  • Perform minor exterior maintenance, including exterior building cleaning and minor repairs.
  • Paint and fill gaps or crevices on walls, sidewalks, and interior floor lines.
  • Perform light installation and light carpentry, such as building or installing cabinets.
  • Perform minor repairs or assist tradespeople with electrical, plumbing, or HVAC repairs as needed.
  • Diagnose and correct mechanical issues.
  • Undertake assigned duties and emergency tasks, such as shoveling snow.
  • Identify and report the need for major repairs.
  • Use various tools to complete minor construction, electrical, and plumbing tasks.
  • Perform all duties with a high degree of safety consciousness.
  • Ensure work quality and adherence to building codes.
  • Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment, including scheduled maintenance, inspection, and cleaning of mini-splits, HVAC systems, and generators.
  • Oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
  • Prepare digital work orders and invoices.
  • Travel regularly, including some overnight travel.
