Snowflake provides a cloud-based data platform called the Snowflake Data Cloud that lets customers store, process, and analyze large amounts of data. It operates on a pay-per-use model, charging for data stored and for computing power used. The platform is designed to be easy to use and handles many data types, supporting use cases from data warehousing and data lakes to data engineering, data science, and data applications. Snowflake differentiates itself with a cloud-native architecture that separates storage and compute, enabling on-demand scaling for diverse workloads across organizations, from startups to large enterprises. The company’s goal is to offer a scalable, flexible, and accessible data platform that unifies storage, processing, and analytics in one service.

What believers are saying

  • Fiscal 2026 product revenue grew 29%, while Q4 RPO reached $9.77 billion.
  • July 28, 2026 Cortex AI Gateway expands Snowflake's agent-security narrative across security vendors.
  • Alteryx One, Cursor, and Spotfire partnerships widen Snowflake's enterprise workflow footprint.

What critics are saying

  • Databricks and Iceberg pressure Snowflake's warehouse moat as customers standardize open data stacks.
  • Consumption revenue stays usage-driven; any enterprise optimization cuts growth within FY27 budgets.
  • Natoma and Observe integrations must land fast, or Snowflake wastes capital and management focus.

What makes Snowflake unique

  • Snowflake owns governed AI data, analytics, and agent control across clouds.
  • Cortex AI Gateway unifies agent identity, access, and audit trails for enterprises.
  • Open standards support, including Polaris and MCP, reduces customer lock-in concerns.

Snowflake adds Alteryx One no-code AI tool to marketplace for enterprise data workflows

Snowflake has added Alteryx One to its Snowflake Marketplace, enabling joint customers to work with AI-ready enterprise data using a no-code interface within the Snowflake AI Data Cloud. The integration allows business teams and IT departments to run analysis, workflows, and automation directly inside Snowflake through Alteryx One. The partnership extends Snowflake's ecosystem and aims to support secure, governed, and scalable analytics and AI deployment for enterprise users. Business users can prepare, analyse, and automate workflows where data already sits, whilst technical teams can add code, custom AI models, and advanced tools on top. The move supports Snowflake's positioning as a core data and AI hub beyond just storage and compute, targeting "last mile" analytics where decisions are made from governed data without moving it to separate tools.

Snowflake joins Cursor's Benchmark Partners Program alongside AWS and NVIDIA for enterprise AI deployment

Snowflake has joined Cursor's Benchmark Partners Program alongside AWS, Databricks, NVIDIA, and others to support enterprise AI adoption. The programme aims to provide a reference stack addressing governance, infrastructure, and deployment challenges for large organisations implementing AI systems. The partnership positions Snowflake as part of a broader enterprise AI stack rather than a standalone data warehouse. It highlights the company's role in standardising how enterprises build and scale AI on modern data platforms. The development reflects increasing demand from large customers moving beyond AI pilots into broader deployments. For investors, the collaboration clarifies Snowflake's position within the evolving AI and data ecosystem as reference architectures continue to form. Snowflake currently trades at $293.28, close to its analyst target of $298.23, though the company remains loss-making with a negative net income margin.

Wells Fargo sets $500 Snowflake price target as AI drives spending up, not down

Wells Fargo has set a $500 price target for Snowflake, the highest on Wall Street, representing 85% upside from the July 28 close of $270.36. The bank upgraded its view after determining that AI is driving increased spending on Snowflake's platform rather than threatening it. Analyst Ryan MacWilliams cited a customer survey showing businesses are uploading more data to Snowflake to feed AI systems, whilst product usage climbs. This contradicts earlier fears that AI agents would undermine software-as-a-service models by replacing human users. Snowflake reported first-quarter revenue of $1.39 billion, up 33% year-on-year, with remaining performance obligations climbing 38% to $9.21 billion. The stock has risen 24.76% year-to-date. Competition from Databricks and Snowflake's 127 times forward earnings multiple present key risks to the bullish outlook.
