Environmental Test Technician
About the job
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in test, manufacturing, or production environments.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds unassisted.
- Willingness to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends during critical test campaigns in 24/7 operations.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts during mission-critical operations.
- Independently operate thermal vacuum chambers, thermal chambers, and electrodynamic shakers for component- and vehicle-level testing.
- Use test equipment and data acquisition systems, including building and maintaining specialized test setups.
- Use software tools and services for test automation, data analysis, documentation, and procurement.
- Perform tests and verifications of flight hardware against test requirements, documenting results clearly, precisely, and completely to meet product quality standards.
- Maintain and calibrate test equipment.
- Interpret drawings, specifications, assembly procedures, and test procedures.
- Support engineering troubleshooting and root cause investigations.
- Assist with area efficiency and 5S improvement projects.
- Use mechanical hand tools and torque wrenches for test setups.
- Experience with thermal, thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, or acoustic testing.
- Familiarity with spacecraft components and environmental testing procedures.
- Material handling equipment certification for cranes, man lifts, or forklifts.
- Track record of working independently and collaboratively in technical teams.
- Experience mentoring or training technical personnel.
