Orange launches "Reconnexion Flash", using SoftAtHome's Always'ON to keep homes online in fibre outages

SoftAtHome's Always'ON software powers Orange's new "Reconnexion Flash" service in France, the company announced on October 13, 2026. When a fiber line fails, the Livebox automatically routes the home's connection through the customer's smartphone hotspot. No app, VPN, or extra hardware is needed. Laptops, tablets, smart TVs, and other devices stay online over Wi-Fi or Ethernet, and the Livebox switches back to fiber once service returns. Orange activated the service remotely for customers with the Livebox 7 Wi-Fi 7 and Livebox S. Landline phone and multicast TV channels resume only when fiber is restored. "An outage is a sensitive moment when a broadband customer judges their operator," said Arnaud Bellivier de Prin, chief executive officer of SoftAtHome.
