Responsibilities
  • Develop prototype, pre-production, and production control plans for programs or approve supplier control plans.
  • Develop the Measurement System Analysis Plan and ensure variable and attribute gage studies are conducted; improve gage repeatability and reproducibility where data indicates a need.
  • Implement manufacturing quality systems for prototype, pre-production, and production builds as specified in the Production Control Plan.
  • Complete inspection reports for components used in pre-production product builds.
  • Perform capability studies, document results for program special characteristics, and ensure customer and internal requirements are met or obtain a written customer deviation.
  • Coordinate preparation and on-time delivery of Production Part Approval Process packages for customer submission and approval.
  • Coordinate preparation and on-time delivery of supplier quality deliverables, including Control Plans, Capability Plans, Capability Studies, part layouts, gage design, gage repeatability and reproducibility, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis when applicable.
  • Ensure appropriate statistical methods are used throughout product and process development and deployed into the Control Plan.
  • Complete all other customer-specific advanced quality requirements.
  • Ensure customer, internal, and supplier quality issues are resolved using appropriate problem-solving methods, including Kepner-Tregoe, 8-D, Design of Experiments, 5 Why, and Red X.
  • Develop inspection and containment plans for pre-launch builds.
  • Perform job functions in accordance with company policies and procedures and preserve the Company Ethics and Quality Policy.
  • Procure prototype and production gaging.
  • Use applicable customer-specific systems, including Ford WERS, SIMS, GM SQMS, and Fiat Chrysler PRISM.
  • Provide analytical and technical support to Quality and Program Management teams.
  • Maintain and improve product quality during upfront product development phases within the Advanced Product Quality Planning process.
  • Provide quality-system support for product development projects and quality input to Program Management and Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Interact with Program Management and customer Supplier Quality and Program teams to complete Production Part Approval Process packages.
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct the Advanced Quality Control program.
  • Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to establish product quality and reliability standards.
  • Formulate and maintain quality-control objectives aligned with corporate policies and goals.
  • Create and implement inspection criteria and procedures.
  • Act as the Management Quality Representative in decisions affecting customer interests.

Southfield Businesses Invest Nearly $52M in Corporate and Residential Redevelopment

Southfield businesses invest nearly $52M in corporate and residential redevelopment. The city of Southfield is the beneficiary of nearly $52 million in recent investments in facility improvements, relocations, and adaptive reuse projects. Among the organizations leading the way are Piston Group and Piston Automotive, Angstrom NA, and West 11 Management. Piston Group invested $800,000 in its corporate headquarters to enhance technology infrastructure, expand office capacity, and modernize the workspace for greater efficiency and collaboration. In addition, Piston Automotive is consolidating and expanding its headquarters at 2000 Town Center, bringing 170 jobs to Southfield and investing $1 million in upgrades intended to further strengthen its role as a global leader in automotive systems manufacturing. Both projects are located in the Southfield City Centre. Global automotive and industrial supplier Angstrom NA is expanding its worldwide headquarters in Southfield with the purchase and redevelopment of 25300 - 25330 Telegraph Road, within the Southfield Technology Corridor Subarea. The company will invest $4.15 million to consolidate operations into the facility, relocating 55 employees from outside the city and 20 within. Angstrom also plans to lease additional space and explore outlot development, further activating the site and contributing to the city's commercial landscape, according to officials. West 11 Management is undertaking a $46 million residential conversion project that will transform two of the former Blue Cross Blue Shield towers into a mixed-use development featuring 305 apartments and amenities including coworking space, fitness facilities, event rooms, and outdoor recreation areas. The redevelopment, located within the Southfield SmartZone Subarea, will transform more than 450,000 square feet of vacant office space into a live/work environment. "These projects are a clear reflection of Southfield's strong partnerships with the business community," says Kenson Siver, mayor of Southfield. "We've worked diligently to create an environment that supports innovation, investment, and redevelopment, and it's rewarding to see those efforts pay off. "Every new project, from corporate expansions to residential reinvestment, adds vitality to our city and benefits residents, businesses, and future generations."
