The Enrollment Marketing and Communications graduate assistantship provides an opportunity for a Mercer University graduate student to obtain work experience in the field of higher education marketing and communications and expand and apply discipline-specific knowledge and skills under supervision while earning an advanced (graduate-level) degree in a related field.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Support a variety ofvideographyneeds, including:

Capture video footage that documents and promotes the university to prospective students
Capture interviews and footage of student and alumni stories for email, web, etc.
Produce, edit, and package video content using Adobe Creative Suite software
Plan scenes and direct actors during shoots
Set up and tear down camera and other equipment at shoots
Utilize editing software to add graphics, text, and special effects to videos
Re-package video projects for social media
Research trends within the higher-ed video marketing
Assist in video archiving and other types of related work

– Providegeneral marketing and communicationssupport as needed, including:

Reach out to faculty, staff, and current students to gather testimonials needed for various projects
Coordinate student or alumni photoshoots
Assist with taking headshots for enrollment management and admissions marketing testimonials

– Provide photography support as needed, including:

·Reach out to faculty, staff, and current students to gather testimonials needed for various projects

·Coordinate student or alumni photoshoots

·Assist with taking headshots for enrollment management and admissions marketing testimonial

·Capture high-quality still images at on-campus and off-campus events, including recruitment events, campus life activities, academic programs, and special initiatives.

·Edit and retouch photos in Lightroom and Photoshop while maintaining Mercer’s established color grading and style guidelines.

·Import, organize, and catalog images using established file-naming and folder structures

·Pitch photo concepts and visual storytelling ideas for campaigns, social media beats, and student features.

·Assist in creating seasonal content plans for @mercernow, admissions emails, and web features.

Qualifications:

To qualify for the graduate assistantship, the student must:

Be fully admitted and enrolled as a degree-seeking student in an eligible Mercer University graduate program, including the Master of Business Administration (MBA), the Master of Education (MEd) in Higher Education Leadership, or the Master of Science in Technical Communication Management (MSTCM)
Successfully complete graduate assistantship application and interview process
Successfully maintain full-time, graduate-level course load each term in which the student is employed as a graduate assistant
Maintain good academic standing for the duration of the academic program
Complete the graduate program of study and assistantship in one academic year

Terms and Conditions:

The graduate assistantship includes the following requirements and benefits:

Minimum 20 hours per week of part-time employment in the Office of Enrollment Management Marketing and Communications for the length of the program
Scholarship covering graduate tuition and required fees, university housing, campus meal plan, and a monthly stipend for books and incidentals; for the length of the program

Please note that the information listed (stipend, tuition support, housing, and other benefits) reflects the current academic-year structure. Final terms for the upcoming appointment cycle may be adjusted based on University-wide graduate assistantship updates and will be confirmed before any final offer.

In special circumstances with the approval of the Senior Vice President for Enrollment Management, the graduate assistantship may be available for a part-time course load and/or renewed for an extended or additional academic term after successful completion of the initial term.
