Requirements
  • Two years of food service experience.
  • A strong background in culinary arts.
  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, or related food service operations.
  • Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with management, clients, customers, and associates.
  • Financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational skills.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and the internet.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain vendor relationships.
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards.
  • Arrange equipment purchases or repairs.
  • Purchase food and other supplies needed for efficient operation and ensure quality-control practices are in place for receiving products.
  • Determine production schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure timely delivery of services, including essential payroll-processing functions.
  • Maintain company standards for safety, proper food-handling practices, sanitation, uniform guidelines, and productivity.
  • Compile and record production or operational data on specified forms.
  • Manage client relationships to maintain client satisfaction and account retention.
  • Assist with management of department controllable expenses, including food costs, labor, supplies, uniforms, and equipment, within budgetary guidelines.
  • Assist in the budgetary process.
  • Assign prices to menu items based on food, labor, and overhead costs.
  • Manage inventory.
  • Assist with submission of financial reports to the corporate office according to company guidelines.
  • Assist operations with financial recordkeeping.
  • Recruit, hire, terminate, review, and manage unit staff.
  • Instruct, train, and supervise employees on essential job functions.
  • Provide attentive and approachable customer service, including greeting and thanking customers.
  • Assist with oversight of culinary operations.
  • Ensure the quality of all food products and that culinary standards are met.
Desired Qualifications
  • ServSafe certification.
  • Knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
