Requirements
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have a High School Diploma, High School Equivalency Diploma, or be participating in a Cook-sponsored program to obtain one.
  • Be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship, including H-1B or TN status, is not provided.
  • Meet the Visual Acuity Screening Requirements of 20/40 vision using both eyes with or without correction.
  • Be able to sit or stand for extended periods during the shift and perform frequent repetitive motion.
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Read and comprehend manufacturing instructions in English.
  • Use proper attire and personal protective equipment as required within Controlled Manufacturing Areas.
  • Perform the essential functions of the job, subject to reasonable accommodation requirements under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Responsibilities
  • Assemble a variety of medical devices according to written specifications and manufacturing instructions, in compliance with the Cook Quality Policy Manual and Quality Management Systems.
  • Complete quality work at acceptable department or production-determined rates.
  • Work independently or in a team-based setting with minimal supervision.
  • Interact effectively and professionally with people throughout various levels of the global organization.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation.
  • Read, comprehend, and follow product specifications, manufacturing instructions, and drawings.
  • Work with small, intricate parts and identify components using catalog descriptions.
  • Use various tools and machines, including razor blades, hole punches, and tabletop grinders.
  • Build products by performing tasks such as cutting, flaring, tipping, sideporting, gluing, and bonding.
  • Set up and operate various production machines as required.
  • Use measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Count and perform simple arithmetic additions and subtractions.
  • Conduct constant visual inspection for obvious product non-conformances.
  • Verify raw materials as required.
  • Report quality problems or findings to management.
  • Use a magnifying device occasionally as required.
  • Work with chemicals such as adhesives, acetone, talcum powder, and isopropyl alcohol.
