About the job

Requirements
  • Four to eight years of experience in implementation, professional services, product, accounting, or consulting roles, ideally at early-stage startups or high-growth Software-as-a-Service companies.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent technical implementations with external customers.
  • Ability to operate fluently in business and technical contexts, engaging with executives, system administrators, and technical teams.
  • Familiarity with enterprise resource planning, accounting, inventory, or supply-chain systems and how they integrate within a broader technology stack.
  • Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex projects on time.
  • Experience onboarding customers onto complex Software-as-a-Service platforms, including project management, integrations, and go-live execution.
  • Technical fluency with technical concepts and integration methodologies, and ability to explain how Mandrel works as an accounting system in relation to other tools.
  • Ability to identify root causes, break down complex issues, and gather information to drive resolution.
  • Ability to balance urgency and impact across multiple concurrent implementations.
  • Ability to work in open-ended environments, create structure where none exists, and adapt as priorities shift.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with executives, operators, and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to navigate difficult conversations with empathy and respect, take ownership, follow through, and help teammates beyond formal scope.
  • Curiosity about customers’ businesses and challenges, and skill in asking probing questions and earning trust.
Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end implementations for 10–15 customers concurrently, dedicating all working time to driving successful, on-time go-lives.
  • Develop a deep understanding of each customer’s business, systems, and data flows to optimize implementation plans and accelerate time-to-value.
  • Lead implementation projects from kickoff through go-live, including requirements gathering, system configuration, integrations, testing, and launch.
  • Map customer technology stacks—including enterprise resource planning, accounting systems, commerce platforms, electronic data interchange systems, warehouse management systems, inventory management systems, and business intelligence tools—and guide customers through technical setup and integration workflows.
  • Map processes, vendors, and document flows associated with client accounting and finance workflows.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during implementation, setting expectations, driving accountability, and maintaining momentum.
  • Advocate for customers internally by clearly articulating their needs, risks, and tradeoffs to product and engineering teams.
  • Push back on unreasonable or out-of-scope requests while maintaining trust and alignment with customer stakeholders.
  • Identify patterns across implementations and build a playbook for a repeatable, scalable implementation process.
  • Partner with sales, solutions, product, and engineering to ensure smooth handoffs and tight feedback loops.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience implementing or working alongside systems such as NetSuite, Fulfil.io, Cin7, Brightpearl, Odoo, or similar enterprise resource planning or inventory management tools.
  • Background in finance, accounting, or operations-focused software.
  • Experience building or scaling implementation processes or playbooks.

What believers are saying

  • Mandrel raised over $12 million by June 2026, extending runway for hiring.
  • Open roles in New York show active expansion across engineering, sales, and community.
  • The company is building around painful finance workflows, a strong wedge for consumer brands.

What critics are saying

  • Mandrel still shows pre-seed scale and no public customer proof by 2026.
  • Zendesk-like incumbents and ERP giants can copy workflow automation before Mandrel scales.
  • If growth stalls, investors like Lux and Construct will back a successor, not rescue Mandrel.

What makes Mandrel unique

  • Mandrel sells AI-native ERP for commerce, anchored at SKU-level operations and finance.
  • The product promises auditable gross margin by SKU and channel from source documents.
  • NYC headquarters and B2B focus target mid-market physical-goods operators, not generic SMBs.
