Requirements
  • At least 8 years of experience in accounting or finance, including meaningful experience in acquisitions, integration, transaction services, or audit.
  • Hands-on experience with business combination accounting, including opening balance sheets and purchase price allocation, and experience working with third-party valuation specialists.
  • Experience with quality of earnings work or transaction diligence on either the buy side or advisory side.
  • Ability to assess and quantify accounting, tax, and legal exposure at a target and know when to escalate risks.
  • Track record of establishing informal accounting processes and creating frameworks and templates that make them repeatable.
  • Direct involvement in at least one accounting system implementation or migration.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and artificial intelligence platforms such as Claude or ChatGPT.
  • Willingness to travel, including being on-site with newly acquired companies.
Responsibilities
  • Join deals after the letter of intent to support the quality of earnings process and pressure-test the accounting behind adjustments.
  • Assess the target's exposure profile across accounting, tax, and legal, including likelihood and magnitude, and route risks to the VP of Corporate Controller, deal team, and outside advisors before close when possible.
  • Assess the target's back office across people, process, and systems against network operating needs.
  • Track identified risks and carry unresolved items into the integration plan.
  • Own collection and quality of data required by outside advisors to finalize the ASC 805 valuation and opening balance sheet.
  • Lead the balance sheet teardown at acquired companies and resolve issues identified during diligence.
  • Support net working capital true-up settlement and ensure it is recorded correctly.
  • Convert acquired-company accounting onto Orion's processes, lead schedules, and reconciliation standards, and help make the company audit-ready.
  • Lead migration onto Orion's accounting and control workflow platforms.
  • Answer accounting and finance questions on-site and through the first close cycles.
  • Document the control environment at each acquisition and identify which controls must be established first.
  • Maintain and improve the finance onboarding documentation framework, including the playbook, checklists, templates, and lead schedule standards.
  • Improve the framework after each deal so subsequent acquisitions begin further along.
  • Partner with Group VPs of Finance and the M&A Integrations Manager on regional finance onboarding and the overall integration program.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with COINs, Sage Intacct, FloQast, or comparable accounting platforms.
  • Experience with monday.com or comparable project-management tooling.
  • Certified Public Accountant credential.
