Requirements

  • Ability to work consistently under pressure while maintaining quality standards.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in French culinary techniques and classical cooking methods.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a kitchen team.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the assigned station precisely, preparing dishes according to established recipes and quality standards while maintaining consistency during busy periods.
  • Ensure every plate meets the organization’s culinary vision and customer expectations.
  • Coordinate service with other kitchen team members, share knowledge, and support colleagues in achieving shared goals.
  • Contribute ideas and technical expertise to menu development and refinement.
  • Follow food safety and hygiene standards and protocols for food handling, storage, and preparation.
  • Manage stock and portion control for the assigned station to use resources efficiently and control costs.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff.
  • Cover for the head chef or sous-chef when they are absent, making operational decisions as needed.
  • Organize the workstation, prepare mise en place, and manage time to meet service demands.
  • Communicate with the kitchen brigade to coordinate operations and resolve operational challenges.

  • Experience in high-end restaurants, luxury hotels, or professional catering services.
  • Proficiency with kitchen management systems and inventory-tracking software.
  • Food safety certification or an official culinary arts diploma.
  • Experience managing multiple kitchen stations or supervising culinary talent.
