Requirements
  • One to three years of experience in quality assurance or control, process or quality engineering, and/or product formulation.
  • A Pharmacy Technician license or willingness to obtain one within the first six months of employment.
  • Experience within a 503b outsourcing facility or in a current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) or regulated environment, with knowledge of Food and Drug Administration 21 CFR 210 and 211.
  • Experience with aseptic processing and knowledge of ISO 14644.
  • Working knowledge of United States Pharmacopeia–National Formulary standards USP-NF <795>, <797>, and <800>, including monographs.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with strong time-management and organizational skills.
  • Interpersonal, communication, and technical-writing skills.
  • Understanding of product testing and best practices for testing products against defined specifications.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Computer skills using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google platform applications.
  • Skills in decision-making, data collection and analysis, organizing, and planning.
  • Working knowledge and application of statistical analysis, including probability and trend analysis.
  • Knowledge and experience in documentation and facility auditing.
  • Willingness to travel when required.
  • Ability to work with hazardous drugs while wearing required personal protective equipment.
  • Medical approval to wear respiratory protection, including N95, full-face respirators, self-contained breathing apparatus, or powered air-purifying respirators.
  • Ability to perform the stated physical duties, including standing, walking, squatting, bending, lifting, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to acknowledge the potential teratogenic, carcinogenic, and reproductive risks of handling hazardous drugs.
Responsibilities
  • Perform in-process and post-production quality checks, including testing and assessing products in compounding suites to ensure product acceptability.
  • Perform line clearance when applicable.
  • Perform acceptable quality limits during the visual inspection process.
  • Provide reports and trending data to quality assurance management.
  • Support departments in reporting, handling, and escalating investigations.
  • Support external manufacturer non-conformance investigations to improve quality processes.
  • Manage product retain samples.
  • Support the change-control system by providing improvement solutions.
  • Support pharmacy quality processes, including inspections, pH-meter and scale checks, non-conformance, deviation, and complaint investigations; corrective-action activities; and training activities.
  • Document and review records, including standard operating procedure generation, batch-record review, certificate-of-analysis acceptance, and United States Pharmacopeia monographs.
  • Recommend training needs and provide reports to the Quality Control Manager and Lead Pharmacist to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Assist with incoming raw-material inspections according to guidelines for collecting, testing, and reporting quality data.
  • Assist with drafting standard operating procedures and protocols that follow internal global policies, United States Pharmacopeia standards, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with USP <795>, USP <797>, USP <800>, and current good manufacturing practice cleaning standards.
  • Assist with third-party and internal audit activities to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with managing samples to be tested by contract laboratories.
Desired Qualifications
  • A B.S. in chemistry, microbiology, biology, quality management, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience within a 503b outsourcing facility or in a current good manufacturing practice or regulated environment, with knowledge of Food and Drug Administration 21 CFR 210 and 211.
