Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience installing and commissioning physical security systems is required.
  • A valid driver’s license and good driving record are required.
  • The ability to read and interpret construction documents and technical specifications is required.
  • The ability to perform basic IP network configuration and understand connectivity is required.
  • Comfort with hand and power tools, including scissor lifts, is required.
  • Basic understanding of Windows-based applications, system configuration, and browser-based interfaces is required.
  • The role requires regular in-person attendance, daily driving to client sites, and occasional overnight travel.
  • The employee must be able to work safely in high, precarious places and around electrical hazards, use ladders or lifts, and lift up to 60 pounds occasionally.
Responsibilities
  • Lead project sites in a supervisory role while actively participating in physical installation.
  • Interpret system design drawings, floor plans, and construction documents.
  • Install cameras, card readers, door hardware, intrusion panels, power supplies, and cabling.
  • Mount, wire, label, and test security head-end equipment, including racks, servers, switches, patch panels, and controllers.
  • Commission and test systems, including programming IP addresses, enrolling devices, and verifying connectivity.
  • Perform basic to intermediate programming in access-control and video-management platforms, such as creating badges and setting up camera streams.
  • Troubleshoot cabling, power, and device-communication issues.
  • Provide project updates to management.
  • Maintain accurate as-built documentation and system labeling.
  • Communicate project variances with the Physical Security Team.
  • Manage on-site product substitutions and change orders.
  • Attend and contribute to pre-project planning meetings.
  • Follow job-site safety and conduct policies.
  • Ensure systems are fully tested and commissioned according to scope.
  • Walk customers through basic system operation during project hand-off.
  • Coordinate final programming hand-off when applicable.

  • Experience with platforms such as Verkada, Avigilon, Milestone, Hanwha, Axis, HID, or Mercury.
  • Ability to mentor junior technicians and support their development.
  • Strong understanding of physical security infrastructure and best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in leadership and team roles.
