IGEN and Vertex join forces to combine excise and global indirect tax in one SAP-ready solution

IGEN, an excise tax compliance automation company, has expanded its collaboration with global indirect tax firm Vertex, Inc. The two are launching a joint solution that lets tax teams manage excise and global indirect tax as one process. The first integration adds IGEN's excise tax calculation to Vertex's SAP-certified connector. Enterprises moving to SAP S/4HANA can calculate excise and other indirect taxes in a single transaction flow, which may remove the need for a separate integration project. Integrations with more ERP systems are planned. "There is a clear gap in the market that IGEN and Vertex are uniquely positioned to solve," said Ryan Padget, president of IGEN. The solution targets highly regulated industries such as oil and gas and tobacco, where one transaction can carry several tax obligations.
