Requirements
  • Two years of relevant experience required.
  • Proficiency with computers and related software.
  • Efficiency with ten-key calculator.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Performs insurance predetermination of benefits, validates insurance coverage and pre-authorizations.
  • Discusses treatment plans and payment arrangements with patients.
  • Enters dental coding but occasionally cross codes to medical.
  • Bills medical and dental carriers, appeals claims and collection functions.
  • Serves as liaison between doctors, patients and payers.
  • Responsible for a group providers' accounts receivable including timely filing, appealing accounts and processing accounts according to the department policy.
  • Assists in coverage of the check-in desk by answering more complex questions and covering during vacancies.
Desired Qualifications
  • Three to five years of experience in a dental office working with a variety of dental specialties.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving insurance; strong customer service skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with a variety of providers.
