Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in STEM is required.
- At least 10 years of experience in electronics hardware and software design is required.
- A solid electronics background and experience in digital and analog hardware design at the system level are required.
- In-depth knowledge of DC and AC measurement techniques in a bench and automatic test equipment environment is required.
- In-depth understanding of automatic test equipment architecture is required.
- Excellent electronics debugging skills are required.
- Printed circuit board design experience is required, including applying design rules to maximize signal integrity and optimize low-noise power distribution.
- Fluency in system programming languages such as C++, C#, or Visual Basic is required.
- The ability to travel up to 25% is required.
- A valid driver's license is required for possible travel within the continental United States.
- A current U.S. passport is required for possible travel outside the continental United States.
Responsibilities
- Design new automatic test equipment systems and other Vertical Launching System test equipment.
- Provide oversight for control software used in new system designs by designing the software and/or working with a software engineer to ensure a robust, error-free product.
- Provide engineering support for acceptance, installation and checkout, troubleshooting, and repair of prototype and production test systems.
- Provide engineering support for test system indoctrination, maintenance, and technician and operator training.
- Provide schematics and diagrams and write specifications to clarify design details of prototype or experimental electronics units.
- Supervise the fabrication and assembly of prototype and production electrical and electronic systems.
- Redline technical data packages, including manuals, procedures, and drawings, to reflect design or implementation changes and errors.
- Provide engineering support for All-Up Round Built-In-Test systems and other launcher and canister test equipment, including test set layout, hardware and test set configurations, test set-to-All-Up Round interface support, and installation and checkout.
- Mentor and coach government and contractor junior engineers and technicians.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with National Instruments PXI and PXIe hardware and LabVIEW software is a plus.
- Field-programmable gate array programming experience using Verilog and/or VHDL hardware design languages is a plus.
