Requirements
  • A minimum of 5–7 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office products.
  • At least 5 years of experience modeling systems and compiling construction documents in Revit.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Seattle and Washington building codes.
  • Must be located within the Seattle area to support in-person meetings as needed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, manage projects, and perform quality control.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a startup environment.
  • Client relationship skills.
Responsibilities
  • Lead mechanical design for various project types and deliver projects across design-bid-build, design assist, and design-build delivery models.
  • Design HVAC systems, including load calculations, equipment sizing and selection, and layout.
  • Communicate mechanical system pluses and deltas to clients and stakeholders in presentation format.
  • Develop project specifications and perform site evaluations.
  • Attend meetings with clients and project teams.
  • Develop contract drawings from schematics through construction documents.
  • Review project submittals for product data and shop drawings, respond to requests for information, and engage with contractors to find creative solutions during construction administration.
  • Establish design standards and criteria for projects and prepare calculations, reports, and specifications.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, evolving building codes, and industry advancements to enhance technical quality.
  • Collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment to produce integrated project documents and cohesive design strategies.
  • Engage in the development of tools and templates.
  • Contribute to the growth of the mechanical studio.
  • Manage projects efficiently, ensuring timely delivery, quality standards, and adherence to quality control processes.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or a similar related field of study, or equivalent work experience.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering, Engineer in Training, or Professional Engineer license.
  • LEED Accredited Professional credential.
