Oracle's Fusion Agentic Applications aim to move enterprise AI from pilots to production

Oracle is pitching a shift in enterprise software: applications that take responsibility for business outcomes, rather than AI assistants that help with single tasks. Its Fusion Agentic Applications use enterprise data, processes, and policies to coordinate work, take authorized actions, and adapt as conditions change. Fusion Claw extends this to longer-running work that needs research, analysis, and execution. Business experts can describe an outcome in natural language using Oracle AI Agent Studio, while developers extend and test it with tools such as Visual Studio Code, Codex, and Claude Code. Oracle says governance is built in. Organizations set an Enterprise Operating Envelope of policies, risk thresholds, and approval rules. The application acts within its delegated authority, seeks approval where required, and escalates when a decision falls outside its remit.

Oracle shares tumble 8.83% to $130.55 as hot CPI data lifts yields and debt nears $167B

Oracle shares fell 8.83% to $130.55 on Wednesday after hotter-than-expected September Consumer Price Index data lifted Treasury yields and revived bets on rate rises. Trading volume hit 50.4 million shares, about 61% above the three-month average. The stock was already under pressure from worries over financing its AI cloud expansion. Debt is heading toward $167 billion, and its credit rating was cut to BBB-, one notch above speculative grade. Higher rates could make that debt load harder to carry. Still, Oracle reported 30% year-over-year revenue growth to $19.3 billion in its latest quarter, driven by cloud infrastructure. The S&P 500 fell 1.08% and the Nasdaq Composite fell 1.88%. Oracle reports next on December 14, 2026.

Over 25% of S&P 500 stocks are down 40%+: four bargain tech picks, from Netflix to Oracle

More than 25% of S&P 500 stocks are down 40% or more from their highs, even with the index near record levels, as of October 8, 2026. The Motley Fool sees that as a chance to hunt for bargains in tech. It names four picks. Netflix trades at about 18.5 times 2027 analyst earnings estimates, and advertising should drive its growth. Oracle has a $664 billion backlog in cloud infrastructure, but carries heavy debt and burns cash. ServiceNow, hit by the 2026 software sell-off, trades at 7.5 times forward sales as it pushes into agentic AI. AppLovin trades at 13 times 2027 earnings estimates. Its revenue rose 53% last quarter to $1.9 billion.

Oracle urges FERC to fast-track gas pipeline for $1.1B Project Jupiter data centre

Oracle has urged the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to speed up approval of the 17.8-mile Green Chile pipeline in New Mexico. It says delays threaten its Project Jupiter data center campus. The pipeline would carry about 400 million cubic feet of natural gas a day to power the site's microgrid, which uses Bloom Energy fuel cells. Its start date has slipped to February 2027 from August, after local opposition forced developer Transwestern Pipeline Co. to move the route onto federal land. Environmental groups and New Mexico Attorney General Raúl Torrez want FERC to review the data center and pipeline together. Oracle has considered trucking in gas for early commissioning work. In a letter to FERC on Tuesday, Oracle said the four-building campus would support nearly 5,800 peak construction jobs and generate up to $1.1 billion in annual economic output for Doña Ana County.

Oracle vs Intuit: why Oracle's 30% cloud growth beats Intuit's cheaper valuation

A Motley Fool analysis picks Oracle over Intuit as the better tech stock to buy in 2026, though it flags risks at both companies. Intuit posted fiscal 2026 revenue of $21 billion, up about 14%, with net income near $4.6 billion and free cash flow of $8.6 billion. It trades at a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 13.1x, against 17.4x for Oracle. The author warns it could be a value trap as cheaper tax tools threaten its individual customer base. Oracle reported revenue of about $67 billion, up 17%, and net income of $17 billion. Free cash flow was negative at nearly $5.4 billion. Its debt-to-equity ratio fell from 3.6x in May to 2.3x in August. The author favours Oracle for its cloud backlog and 30% revenue growth last quarter.
