Must obtain and maintain Jailer Basic Proficiency Certification from the Texas Commission of Law Enforcement.
Ability to perform security checks, cell searches and inspections, perimeter checks, control-tower duties, inmate record review, classification interviews, report preparation, facility cleaning and maintenance assistance, and inmate transportation.
Ability to intermittently sit, stand, bend, crouch, or stoop and occasionally lift light and heavy objects.
Responsibilities

Issue meals, clothing, linens, and personal items to inmates.
Supervise inmate programs, including recreational, legal, health care, visitation, and religious services.
Prepare reports on jail and inmate activities.
Check the jail docket and observe inmate locations and activities.
Assist with cleaning and maintaining the facility and identify maintenance problems.
Supervise outside and visitation times for inmates and work detail.
Assist with transporting inmates to medical and other correctional facilities.
Perform related work as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent.
Requires completion of one-year probation.
