Requirements

  • Be a college graduate of an accredited physical therapist assistant program.
  • Have passed a national examination for physical therapist assistants certified by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
  • Hold a valid state physical therapist assistant license or have a license in process.
  • Have CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist as mandated by the State Practice Act.
  • Implement high-quality physical therapy services with minimal supervision for patients, caregivers, and facilities, in accordance with physical therapy principles and practices and Select Medical policies and procedures.
  • Maintain positive interactions with centers and patients, and enhance and expand client relations with centers and their staff.
