Responsibilities
  • Own and evolve the technical strategy for analytics across multiple pods and products.
  • Define and govern enterprise-level analytics architecture, including data ingestion and integration patterns, data modeling and semantic-layer standards, and reporting and analytics consumption patterns.
  • Drive standardization, reuse, and simplification to reduce technical debt.
  • Review and approve technical designs for major initiatives and cross-pod solutions.
  • Provide technical oversight across multiple analytics pods.
  • Ensure consistent application of design standards, coding and modeling best practices, and data quality and validation frameworks.
  • Own technical risk management at portfolio level, including dependencies, scalability, and performance.
  • Act as the final technical escalation point for complex delivery issues.
  • Partner with Product Managers to align portfolio roadmaps with technical feasibility.
  • Work with Senior Business Analysts to ensure KPI frameworks and metric logic are technically sound and scalable.
  • Collaborate with Solution and Enterprise Architects to align with platform strategy, security, compliance, and governance standards.
  • Influence prioritization decisions by articulating technical trade-offs and impacts.
  • Step in hands-on for complex architecture decisions, large migrations and rationalization efforts, and cross-domain analytics solutions.
  • Guide teams on SAP BW, SAP HANA, SAP S/4 data models; data warehousing, Lakehouse, Data Lake, and ETL/ELT patterns; and cloud analytics platforms such as AWS and Snowflake.
  • Ensure analytics platforms are future-ready.
  • Own the end-to-end technical design of analytics solutions within assigned pods or products.
  • Define future-state analytics architecture, including data flows, integration patterns, and semantic layers.
  • Review and approve data models, pipelines, and reporting architectures.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, performant, reusable, and maintainable.
  • Line-manage and mentor Tech Leads and senior analytics engineers.
  • Set expectations for technical ownership, delivery accountability, and quality standards.
  • Coach Tech Leads on decision-making, stakeholder communication, and balancing speed with sustainability.
  • Build an analytics engineering leadership bench.
  • Define and drive skill-development paths for data engineering, business intelligence and semantic modeling, and cloud and platform capabilities.
  • Identify skill gaps and partner with CoE leadership on hiring strategy, upskilling plans, and vendor augmentation where required.
  • Champion product-based delivery and engineering discipline.
  • Promote collaboration across Product, Business Analysis, Engineering, and Platform teams.
  • Embed a culture of ownership, reuse over reinvention, data quality, and reliability.
  • Act as a role model for technical and people leadership.

Trane and Carrier see data centre orders surge as AI cooling demand outstrips supply

Trane and Carrier, two of the world's largest HVAC companies, are experiencing surging orders from data centres as AI infrastructure demands increase. As AI clusters generate more heat with newer chip generations, hyperscalers have turned to established HVAC leaders to meet their cooling needs. Trane's data centre business accounts for approximately 10% of its total revenue. Its backlog grew 70% year over year to $12.1 billion in Q2 2026, equivalent to 57% of its 2025 revenue. From 2021 to 2025, Trane's revenue and earnings per share grew at compound annual growth rates of 11% and 21%, respectively. Carrier's data centre sales represent about 5% of its 2025 revenue. The company expects this segment to grow 50% in 2026, reaching 7% to 9% of revenue. Its backlog increased 40% year over year to $8 billion in Q2 2026.

Wall Street sets ambitious targets for 3 stocks, but only 1 looks promising

Carrier acquires AI building automation firm 75F to scale cloud-native control software

Carrier Global has acquired 75F, a Minneapolis-based maker of cloud-native, AI-enabled building-automation systems. The climate-equipment company disclosed no financial terms for the deal, which closed on 23 July 2026. Carrier had previously invested in 75F through its venture arm, participating in the company's $45 million Series B round in February 2025 alongside Breakthrough Energy Ventures and Next47. Founded in 2012, 75F had raised roughly $80 million in venture funding. The acquisition gives Carrier ownership of 75F's cloud software and machine-learning layer that automates building systems. Carrier plans to integrate 75F's technology with its WebCTRL building controls, Abound predictive-analytics service, and Nlyte data-centre management software. Carrier specifically cited data centres as a key application, planning to incorporate 75F's AI capabilities into its QuantumLeap thermal-management suite.
