Requirements
  • Full ownership of a monthly close in a multi-entity environment, including reviewing other people's work.
  • Hands-on ASC 606 experience in a subscription software or SaaS business, including preparing deferred revenue roll-forwards and working on multi-element contracts.
  • Hands-on NetSuite experience; migration or implementation exposure is preferred over routine-user experience.
  • Experience with multi-currency and intercompany accounting, including translation, remeasurement, and intercompany entries.
  • Ownership of accounts receivable and collections, with a track record of improving an aging profile using measurable results.
  • Supervisory experience, including managing or closely reviewing at least one person's work and giving difficult feedback.
  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and five or more years of progressive accounting experience.
Responsibilities
  • Own the close calendar across all group entities, publish and run it, and complete the close on the agreed day.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepaids, deferred revenue, intercompany, and foreign exchange entries.
  • Own monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules for every material account.
  • Prepare the monthly reporting pack for the Controller's review, including variance commentary.
  • Investigate discrepancies between reports, correct the underlying cause, and document the reconciliation.
  • Apply the group's revenue recognition policy under ASC 606 across SaaS subscriptions, hosted and on-premise licenses, support and maintenance, implementation and data migration services, training, and third-party pass-through.
  • Own deferred revenue and contract asset roll-forwards and reconcile them to the contract population.
  • Review new and renewing contracts against the revenue checklist and escalate arrangements that do not fit it.
  • Maintain revenue-policy support schedules and flag questions not addressed by the policy.
  • Own billing accuracy across renewals, new business, change orders, and professional services, including the handoff from contract administration into the ledger.
  • Own the accounts receivable ledger and collections process, including aging discipline, a documented dunning cycle, escalation paths, and weekly aging and days-sales-outstanding reporting.
  • Improve the overdue receivable aging profile against the baseline agreed in the first month by working with sales, customer success, and public-sector procurement contacts.
  • Own accounts payable, including approval workflow, vendor master integrity, payment runs, and 1099 and T4A reporting.
  • Carry the finance-side NetSuite migration work for owned areas, including opening-balance validation, sub-ledger tie-out, historical comparatives, and parallel-run reconciliation.
  • Operate NetSuite day to day across the general ledger, accounts receivable and payable, revenue module, and multi-currency processes.
  • Build NetSuite saved searches, reports, and dashboards to replace offline spreadsheets.
  • Document configurations and write desk procedures so the work is not dependent on one person.
  • Supervise the Staff Accountant and Accounting Administrator by allocating work, reviewing output, setting standards, and developing them.
  • Write desk procedures for the whole team and document knowledge currently held by individual employees.
  • Recommend how the team should be structured as the group grows and make the case for the structure.
  • Prepare audit and review schedules, manage the request list, and clear items to a timetable.
  • Support indirect tax compliance with advisers across US sales and use tax, Canadian GST/HST and provincial taxes, UK VAT, and state and provincial registrations.
  • Execute finance-side controls for SOC 2 and ISO 27001 readiness, including evidenced approvals, segregation of duties in NetSuite, and finance-system access reviews.
Desired Qualifications
  • CPA or CA qualification, or active pursuit of CPA or CA.
  • Experience in a private-equity-backed business.
  • Experience bringing acquired books onto a group chart of accounts and close calendar.
  • Cross-border US and Canada experience, including indirect tax in both countries.
  • Advanced Excel and data skills, including large reconciliations, Power Query, and reporting-tool fluency.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Bloom completed GRC International's take-private on April 17, 2026, consolidating control.
  • Soutron Global bought Biblionix in August 2026, expanding to 7,000+ U.S. libraries.
  • RightCrowd added mobile credentials and engineering leaders in H1 2026, signaling continued investment.

What critics are saying

  • GRC, Soutron, and RightCrowd integrations can fail, destroying promised synergies by 2027.
  • Bloom's strategy depends on serial acquisitions; one failed deal pipeline stalls growth.
  • If portfolio execution disappoints, Fund I exits weaken and Bloom loses deal credibility.

What makes Bloom Equity Partners unique

  • Bloom buys lower-middle-market software, then compounds value through add-on acquisitions.
  • Its 2026 portfolio spans GRC, library systems, and physical access security niches.
  • Bloom's August 2026 update shows dedicated operating hires and active portfolio integration support.
