Requirements
  • Experience in mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering for construction projects.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, standards and regulations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • A degree or equivalent in mechanical, electrical, building services or a related discipline.
  • Membership or eligibility for a relevant professional body, such as CIBSE, IET, or Engineers Ireland.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and review of mechanical, electrical and plumbing designs, drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems with other disciplines to ensure constructability and compliance.
  • Support technical problem-solving on site and in design offices.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant regulations, standards and client requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior team members where applicable.
  • Assist in planning, sequencing and installation of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems on site.
  • Support commissioning, testing and handover of mechanical, electrical and plumbing installations.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants and subcontractors under guidance.
  • Attend project meetings, design reviews and technical workshops.
  • Communicate across multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve design efficiency, quality and sustainability.
  • Promote the use of digital tools, building information modeling and innovative mechanical, electrical and plumbing solutions.
  • Contribute to lessons learned and best-practice sharing across projects.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience on Tier 1 contractor projects or complex multidisciplinary programmes.
  • Knowledge of low-carbon, energy-efficient and sustainable mechanical, electrical and plumbing design.
  • Familiarity with digital construction tools, building information modeling and lean delivery methodologies.
  • Chartered status or progress toward chartered status with a relevant professional body.
  • A postgraduate qualification in building services, project management or sustainability.
  • Training in building information modeling management, digital design or advanced mechanical, electrical and plumbing technologies.
