Requirements
  • Hold a Ph.D. in Information Science or a related discipline by July 1, 2027, along with a Master in Information Studies from an American Library Association-accredited institution.
  • Ability to develop an active and innovative research program, with peer-reviewed publications and presentations at scholarly conferences.
  • Ability to attract external funding.
  • Prior teaching experience at a higher education institution.
  • Excellent communication skills in French or English.
  • Active knowledge of Canada’s two official languages, French and English, is required for tenure.
  • Ability to recruit and mentor graduate students.
Responsibilities
  • Teach graduate courses in both French and English.
  • Conduct research and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Contribute to the university community through service.
  • Oversee graduate students.
  • Advance the discipline and enhance the academic unit, including graduate programs.
  • Develop an active research program, including securing grants from funding bodies or implementing a clear strategy for developing an active research program.
Desired Qualifications
  • French-English bilingualism is an asset.
  • Experience as a professional librarian is an asset.
