  • Ability to implement a coaching and monitoring plan over the following 2–3 weeks.
  • Ability to submit all performance-task components within 48 hours of receiving the task.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the instructional leader, culture builder, operational manager, and chief architect of student success and graduation readiness.
  • Ensure strong academic outcomes, high graduation rates, effective staff development, positive school culture, strong family partnership, and well-managed operational systems aligned to Ohio high school expectations.
  • Lead academic improvement and data-driven instruction.
  • Build and sustain graduation and postsecondary-readiness systems.
  • Develop and manage teachers and leaders.
  • Strengthen culture, attendance, and family engagement.
  • Analyze complex data and create a strategic improvement plan.
  • Provide instructional feedback and coaching.
  • Identify the three highest-leverage priorities for the first 90 days and explain their urgency and connection to academic and graduation outcomes.
  • Build or strengthen systems for instructional quality and academic outcomes; graduation readiness and credit tracking; staff coaching, development, and retention; culture, attendance, and behavior consistency; leadership-team effectiveness and accountability; and family engagement and enrollment stability.
  • Outline key actions for the first 30, 60, and 90 days.
  • Communicate expectations and build staff alignment.
  • Develop and manage other leaders in the building.
  • Ensure systems are implemented consistently.
  • Track data weekly and monthly, establish leadership and staff meeting structures, hold staff and leaders accountable, and adjust actions when progress is not occurring.
  • Capture objective, low-inference observation notes focused on teacher actions, student actions and engagement, evidence of understanding or confusion, checks for understanding, classroom routines, and expectations.
  • Analyze the observed lesson and identify reinforcement areas, practices limiting mastery, evidence of understanding and engagement, missed opportunities for rigor, checks for understanding, and reteaching.
  • Lead a 20–30 minute feedback conversation with the teacher.
  • Implement a 2–3 week follow-up coaching and monitoring cycle involving observation, modeling, co-planning, professional-development alignment, evidence collection, and accountability for growth.
