Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience as a Technical Designer at an apparel company
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Fashion Design or Technical Design
  • Expert knowledge of fit, pattern making, grading, garment construction, sewing, and technical drawing
  • Must have cut and sew woven and knit experience
  • Able to effectively communicate with international vendors and cross functional teams on a regular basis (written & verbal)
  • Proficiency in MS office, Excel, Adobe Illustrator and PLM (Centric is a plus)
  • Experience in Digital Pattern-making software (Gerber is a plus)
  • Experience with plus-sized lines a plus
Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day communication with factories
  • Attend cross-functional weekly meetings to communicate timeline conflicts, updates, guidance, and solutions
  • Build tech packs including garment specs, construction, and digital pattern for factories to create samples
  • Coordinate, prepare, and organize fit samples for live model fittings and inspect samples following company quality standards
  • Lead weekly fittings and clearly communicate revisions to factories through fit comments, spec and pattern revisions, and construction updates
  • Execute fit comments in a timely manner to ensure fit process stays in line with production timelines
  • Review graded nest patterns, issue grading guidelines to vendors after fit approval to ensure consistent fit and quality
  • Coordinate with design and product development to ensure all design, fabric, trim and construction information in tech pack is correct when passing to the vendor
  • Organize and maintain fit block library
  • Mentor and develop junior technical designers
  • Work closely with Technical Design leaders on special projects
  • Partner with Product Integrity to creatively solve quality control concerns
  • Partner with the Raw Material team to wear test new materials
