- Oversee the maintenance and repair of inland towing vessels, including engines, propulsion systems, electrical systems, and auxiliary equipment.
- Execute established preventive maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and availability of the fleet.
- Coordinate and supervise vessel dry-dockings, repairs, and major overhauls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Manage and track vessel maintenance schedules, work orders, and spare parts inventory to optimize vessel availability and minimize downtime.
- Conduct regular vessel inspections to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the operations team to address technical issues and provide engineering support for vessel operations.
- Review and approve technical specifications for vessel repairs and modifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and support to vessel crews and maintenance staff to ensure safe and reliable vessel operation.
- Monitor and analyze vessel performance data to identify opportunities for operational improvements and efficiency gains.
- Stay updated on industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to recommend and implement best practices within the fleet.
- Familiarity with Coast Guard and Subchapter M regulations is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, leadership presence, attention to detail, proactive problem-solving ability, and a commitment to continuous improvement toward the goal of zero safety incidents.
