- A current New York State Registered Nurse license, current New York State Nurse Practitioner license, and current Drug Enforcement Administration license are required.
- At least 3,600 hours of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a hospital, inpatient hospice, medical-surgical, community-based hospice, or palliative care setting is required.
- The candidate must be competent to care for patients in the advanced stage of disease.
- The candidate must demonstrate interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients, families, and staff.
- The candidate must demonstrate an ability to initiate and complete complicated projects.
- The candidate must exhibit an ability and attitude consistent with the organization’s caring philosophy and traditions as required by the job duties.
- Assume continuous patient-care duties as assigned by the Calvary Hospital Medical Director.
- Advanced degrees related to healthcare administration and/or regulation, such as a Master of Business Administration or Juris Doctor, or substantially relevant experience in these fields are preferred.
Calvary Hospital provides palliative and hospice care for terminally ill adults, including those with advanced cancer, with inpatient facilities in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens and Home Care and Hospice Services across the greater New York area. Care comes from multidisciplinary teams that offer round-the-clock symptom relief, comfort, and emotional and spiritual support in hospitals and extend that care into patients’ homes through Home Care and Hospice services. Founded in 1899, the hospital is described as an international model for palliative and end-of-life care, guided by the values of compassion, non-abandonment, dignity, and love, with a broad geographic footprint and integrated inpatient and community services. The goal is to improve quality of life for patients and to support families, aiming to be a leading international model for end-of-life care.
