Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality data science solutions for various business needs, including supply chain, operations, delivery planning, Ads planning, finance, etc.
• Implement code that automatically generates key inputs to operational business processes using machine learning and optimization methods. Examples include building machine learning models that generate forecasts and the creation of innovative optimization methods that produce labor plans
• Collaborate with our business and engineering partners across the organization to deliver algorithmic solutions for practical business problems. Work with the project leads and product managers to identify and scope new opportunities for data science projects and implement advanced analytics solutions that become essential to our daily business operations
• Productionalize and deploy models using cloud-based tech stacks including Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Ecosystems and etc. 
• Drive adoption of data products and data science team solutions into the planning process for investment decisions with finance and the leadership teams
• Identify gaps in existing data, create data product specs, and work with Engineering teams to implement enhanced data tracking
• Partner with cross-functional teammates to share insights and best practices, ensuring consistency of data-driven decision-making throughout the org

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in data science
• MS or PhD in statistics, mathematics, analytics, computer science, engineering or another quantitative field
• Hands-on experience applying descriptive statistics, machine learning, optimization, and visualization techniques to solve challenging business problems
• Expert programming skills in Python or a general programming language
• Data querying skills in SQL
• Experience deploying models in a production environment
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms to business stakeholders
• Experience with operations research and working with OR specialists preferred
• Knowledge of business problems and technical solutions in supply chain and labor planning contexts preferred

• Gopuff pays employees based on market pricing and pay may vary depending on your location. The salary range below reflects what we’d reasonably expect to pay candidates. A candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
