Requirements
  • A master's degree or higher, or a master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in a recognized academic major in biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science, including medical, dental, pharmacology or pharmaceutical, veterinary, physiology, and pathology sciences.
  • Candidates appointed to a clinical setting must provide documentation of immunizations and current cardiopulmonary resuscitation/basic life support certification.
  • A criminal background check will be conducted.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and deliver instruction in didactic, laboratory, and online settings in alignment with National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences curriculum guidelines.
  • Support college and departmental missions through quality instruction, curriculum enhancement, and service.
  • Collaborate with the department chair, faculty, and peers to evaluate, revise, and develop curriculum.
  • Demonstrate technological literacy and innovation in instructional delivery.
  • Collaborate as part of an academic team.
  • Assist with implementation of college policies, objectives, functions, strategic initiatives, and procedures.
  • Participate in departmental and collegewide meetings as needed.
  • Serve as a professional role model and mentor for students, provide timely assessment, and give clear feedback on academic performance.
  • Document student progress and maintain attendance, grading, and student learning-outcome records.
  • Develop fair and accurate methods to assess student progress toward stated learning outcomes and objectives.
  • Correlate clinical education with didactic education and evaluate student performance and learning.
  • Evaluate, consult with, and instruct students during clinical rotations as needed.
  • Maintain office hours proportionate to the instructional assignment.
  • Assist the program director with reports for internal and external audiences.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development.
  • Protect the privacy and security of student records and other sensitive information in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Work a flexible schedule at multiple worksites.
  • Provide courteous, informed, accessible, and professional service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Relevant teaching experience in a community college setting.
  • Current American Society for Clinical Pathology certification.
  • At least one year of clinical laboratory experience.
