About the job

Requirements
  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in travel—OTA, bedbank/wholesaler, hotel distribution, or an adjacent vertical—including several years managing large, strategic accounts.
  • A proven track record of growing key accounts through relationship depth and creative commercial solutions, rather than just account maintenance.
  • Ability to build relationships, earn trust quickly, read the room, and operate credibly with senior executives.
  • Strategic understanding of how large travel companies operate and how their strategies connect to business opportunities.
  • Experience navigating complex, high-stakes partnerships with diplomacy and maturity when interests do not fully align.
  • Experience negotiating complex, high-stakes commercial agreements.
  • Executive presence and comfort contributing to company-level strategic discussions as well as account-level discussions.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to ground partner conversations and proposals in data.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-directed, structured, and accountable individual contributor without a supporting team.
  • Creative, out-of-the-box approach and willingness to challenge the status quo internally and with partners.
  • Deep understanding of hotel distribution mechanics, including rate types, net rates, dynamic pricing, rate fencing, distribution rules, margin structures, and merchant-of-record versus agency models.
Responsibilities
  • Own a portfolio of Vio's largest and most strategic supply accounts end-to-end as a single accountable individual, covering commercial alignment, performance optimization, rate and distribution management, escalations, and growth.
  • Represent strategic accounts in company-wide conversations, including supply strategy and partnership evolution, ensuring account considerations are reflected in decisions beyond day-to-day operations.
  • Define and execute a growth plan for each account, including revenue targets, growth levers, milestones, and regular progress reviews with partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop a deep understanding of each partner's business, strategy, priorities, working methods, and measures of success to build alignment and mutual outcomes.
  • Build deep, multi-level, trust-based relationships across each account, from working teams to senior leadership, and act as Vio's representative to partners.
  • Conduct regular business reviews, executive meetings, and working sessions; represent Vio at industry events and in-person partner visits.
  • Navigate sensitive conversations, balancing when to push or concede while preserving relationships and defending Vio's interests.
  • Serve as the escalation point for account-related issues, internally and externally.
  • Manage complex partnerships with aligned and diverging interests, finding ways to grow shared business and balancing each partner's context and priorities.
  • Exercise judgment regarding commercial sensitivity, information sharing, and contractual commitments while building trust.
  • Anticipate partner strategic shifts, including distribution policy changes, market moves, and changing priorities, and prepare Vio's position in advance.
  • Design creative solutions, deal structures, and mutually beneficial arrangements to grow accounts when conventional approaches are exhausted.
  • Negotiate high-stakes commercial agreements covering terms, overrides, exclusive and secret deals, tactical promotions, rate distribution rules, and service-level agreements.
  • Initiate renegotiations when performance data, market conditions, or competitive benchmarking reveal opportunities.
  • Propose and run commercial experiments, including pricing tests and promotional trials, track results, and scale successful approaches.
  • Monitor and act on account-level key performance indicators, including revenue, margin, conversion, price competitiveness, availability, mapping coverage, and content quality.
  • Identify causes of underperformance and translate data into concrete commercial actions and partner conversations.
  • Detect account issues and opportunities early, before they affect revenue or the relationship.
  • Collaborate with Pricing, Meta, Connectivity/Integration, Finance, Analytics, Product, and Customer Support to deliver account commitments.
  • Ensure integration health for accounts, including connectivity stability, price accuracy, content completeness, and service-level agreement compliance.
  • Provide commercial input to product and pricing decisions affecting accounts.
Desired Qualifications
  • Existing senior-level network at major OTAs, bedbanks, or travel platforms.
  • Experience with hotel connectivity, including API/XML integrations, and metasearch economics.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Vio.com's affiliate program and widgets target AI agents, publishers, and OTAs in 2026.
  • Updated 2026 pages tout discounts up to 45%, strengthening consumer acquisition.
  • Job postings cite 300% YTD partner-solution growth, signaling strong B2B demand.

What critics are saying

  • Google Hotel Ads and Booking.com can compress Vio's traffic and margins by 2026.
  • Vio depends on supplier pricing and commissions, so OTA retaliation hurts unit economics.
  • If partner growth stalls after 2026, Vio becomes another interchangeable hotel metasearch layer.

What makes Vio unique

  • Its Deal Freeze and Split Booking features directly improve conversion and booking confidence.
  • It claims live pricing across 100+ booking sites, positioning against metasearch incumbents.
