Polaris Patriot 9R - The next evolution of 2-stroke power. When Polaris introduced the Patriot 9R, the goal was clear: create the most responsive and powerful naturally aspirated 2-stroke engine the company had ever built. Designed as a "factory-mod" style powerplant, the Polaris Patriot 9R takes the proven Patriot engine architecture and pushes it further with increased displacement, lighter rotating components, and race-focused engineering. The result is an engine built for riders who want explosive throttle response and strong torque in technical riding environments. Big-Bore Patriot evolution. The Patriot 9R builds directly on the success of Polaris' 850 Patriot engine but increases displacement to 899cc, making it the only 900-class 2-stroke snowmobile engine currently offered in the segment. The engine uses a bore and stroke of 88 mm x 74 mm, paired with liquid cooling and Polaris' Cleanfire fuel injection system. While the design is rooted in the Patriot platform, Polaris engineers focused on airflow and combustion efficiency to unlock additional performance.
