Full-Stack Software Engineer

The trucking industry is the backbone of the global economy. Roughly 70% of what we consume in the U.S. is moved by trucks. Those trucks are powered by over 3.5 million drivers per year and create over $700B in annual revenue. Trucking is a massive industry but it is a traditional industry and like many traditional industries, it is ripe for innovation.

CloudTrucks is building the operating system for trucking and is the first platform specifically designed to empower truck drivers. Our all-in-one, “business in a box” solution optimizes and automates operations and accelerates cash-flow for drivers, so they can focus on building their business.

Being an all-in-one platform, our product development teams tackle a broad range of complex challenges ranging from understanding geolocation and logistics route optimizations, to IOT and SaaS integrations, to business workflow automations, to building fintech products.

As a Software Engineer on the Growth team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our company. With growth being a top priority, your contributions will help us scale rapidly while maintaining high standards of efficiency and quality. You will leverage your technical expertise to make critical decisions, build robust systems, and deliver products that empower both the truck drivers on our platform and our internal teams.

Examples of projects that you may work on

• Driver Qualification Engine: Leverage LLMs to analyze background checks and driver history, enabling instant, data-driven onboarding decisions.

• Automated KYC/KYB: Implement fast, compliant KYC/KYB processes to onboard drivers quickly while screening out bad actors.

• Enhanced Onboarding Visibility: Develop real-time status updates and guided flows to keep drivers and internal teams informed throughout onboarding.

• Streamlined Compliance Workflows: Automate regulated processes like insurance and plate setup, reducing onboarding time from weeks to hours.

• Self-Service Onboarding: Create an intuitive, self-guided onboarding flow with generated video content to educate and prepare drivers efficiently.

• Tier 1 Integration Redesign: Re-architect our integration platform to scale 100x, delivering high performance, reliability, and fault tolerance.
  

Responsibilities

• Design, test, ship, and maintain solutions to problems and products. Working across frontend and backend.

• Take complete ownership over projects and features. Work across a range of systems and technologies to deliver end-to-end solutions.

• Partner with cross functional teams to ensure a complete and delightful customer experience.

• Help set and improve our engineering processes, standards, and tooling.

• Mentor other engineers and help them grow in their role.
  

What we are looking for

• Strong technical background, including 4+ years of industry experience as a software engineer working on production systems.

• Self-motivated and comfortable operating in a dynamic environment.

• Takes a user-focused approach, shipping incrementally with rapid iterations.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills. As a small engineering team, we work closely with each other and other cross functional teams across the company.

• Experience with web technologies and system design.
  

Nice to haves

• Full-stack experience building responsive layouts with React, HTML and CSS.

• Experience with our technical stack: Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Javascript, Typescript, React, Google Cloud
