Finom launches Metal premium business card built to pay for itself.

Finom launches Metal premium business card built to pay for itself. * Banking * 18.06.2026 02:56 pm Finom, a European financial platform for SMEs and entrepreneurs serving over 200,000 businesses, today launches Metal, its first premium business card. The Visa debit add-on offers 1.2% cashback on business spend (up to €5,000/month), no added Finom markups on up to €100,000/month of non-EUR card spend and subscription refund on leading AI tools. Metal is available from €29.99 per month and is included at no extra cost on the Grow plan. Finom said the card targets two rising costs for small businesses: FX markups on international card spend, which can reach 5%* on top of the exchange rate, and AI software subscriptions, which the company said have grown more than 98% among its customers in the past seven months. "Premium business cards have sold status for a decade. We built Metal to sell payback," said Kristjan Kaar, chief product officer at Finom. "For a business spending at scale across currencies, the case isn't the metal, it's the math: cashback on what you spend, and no added Finom markups on what you spend abroad." What Metal includes: * 1.2% cashback on business spend, up to a €5,000/month payout. This is Finom's highest cashback rate. * No added Finom markups on non-EUR card spend, up to €100,000/month (out-of-hours conditions apply). * One airport-lounge visit, two fast-track passes and two eSIMs (1GB each) every month. * The first month of leading AI tools (including ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Cursor) refunded when paid with Metal (new subscribers only; within the monthly cashback cap). * An 18-gram metal Visa debit card with express delivery. Metal is a €29.99/month add-on for Finom's Pro and Grow customers, with one Metal card included at no additional charge on the Grow plan. It is available across all European markets. Customers on Solo, Basic and Smart plans can become eligible by upgrading. "SMEs are spending more on AI tool subscriptions and cross-border transactions than ever before," said Ivan Kolykhalov, product manager for cards at Finom. "Metal turns these line items down while rewarding the everyday spend that keeps a business running." Metal is the first step in Finom's premium-card roadmap, with further benefits and market-specific features to follow. *Visa applies a daily wholesale conversion rate, benchmarked against ECB rates; providers and banks add their own markup on top (see Visa's European exchange-rate calculator, which itemises the bank fee separately). Independent pricing analyses put that added markup at roughly 3-5% on foreign-currency card spend (June 2026). Figures describe third-party providers, not Finom or Visa.

Finom Launches Interest Account, Offering European Businesses Daily Returns on Idle Cash

Finom launches Interest Account, offering European businesses daily returns on idle cash. * Banking * 16.03.2026 08:35 am Finom, the integrated financial management platform for freelancers and SMEs in Europe, launched the Interest Account: an embedded, fully MiFID-regulated feature that lets business customers earn daily returns on EUR balances. The launch addresses a gap in European business banking. The ECB deposit facility rate currently sits at 2%, yet most eurozone banks pay significantly less on small business current accounts, leaving freelancers and SMEs with limited options to earn returns on working capital. Larger corporations have dedicated treasury teams to solve this, but SMEs and freelancers do not. The result is billions in working capital sitting idle across Europe, while business owners focus on running their companies. To close this gap, Finom Interest Account offers eligible Finom business customers up to 5%** annualised interest on their EUR balances. Returns accrue daily and are credited automatically, with no lock-up period, so customers can access their funds at any time, with instant withdrawals. There are no setup or ongoing fees for eligible users. "Most business banking features treat idle cash as an afterthought," said Andrew Petrov, CEO and co-founder of Finom. "Our Interest Account flips that. It is designed around how businesses actually operate: funds need to be accessible, returns need to be predictable, and the whole thing needs to work without extra effort on the owner's part." The feature is powered by a partnership with Aksys Global Markets Europe Ltd. (CySEC License No. 456/25), a fully licensed EU investment firm. Customer funds are invested in low-risk Money Market Funds (MMFs) under a complete MiFID-regulated structure. "Whenever European SMEs have cash balances, those usually generate nothing while sitting in a current account," said Imad Assio, Executive Director at Aksys. "Through our partnership with Finom, we're making it straightforward for small businesses and freelancers to put their working capital to use within a regulated, low-risk structure and no special knowledge required." This launch is the first MiFID-powered investment feature within the Finom ecosystem. The Interest Account is available to Finom customers on Solo, Basic, Smart, Pro, and Grow plans across EEA markets. EUR balances are supported at launch. * 16.03.2026 01:05 pm * 16.03.2026 10:45 am * 13.03.2026 02:05 pm * 12.03.2026 12:25 pm * 12.03.2026 12:15 pm * 12.03.2026 08:25 am * 11.03.2026 10:15 am * 11.03.2026 08:45 am * 11.03.2026 08:25 am * 09.03.2026 10:15 am * 09.03.2026 08:55 am

Finom Launches Premium Business Cards for Growing SMEs

Finom launches premium business cards for growing SMEs. Finom, the digital financial services platform for European SMEs, today announced the launch of Finom Prime, a subscription-based business card for European SMEs. The new card addresses a specific market gap: businesses that have outgrown basic card offerings but find existing premium cards overpriced. As micro-organizations notably exhibit greater resilience and growth compared to other enterprises, according to the European Commission, mid-tier solutions that provide functional benefits without status-driven pricing become increasingly relevant. Finom Prime addresses a practical challenge for growing freelancers, micro-organisations and SMEs: managing multiple business cards to optimize transaction benefits. The card consolidates payment needs into a single solution, allowing savings of up to €20,000 annually compared to managing multiple card products. "Small and medium-sized businesses working with international suppliers or paying for significant SaaS subscriptions lose money on FX fees and capped rewards, and every euro of those losses is a euro that could fuel growth," said Kristjan Kaar, CPO at Finom. "Entrepreneurs shouldn't have to think about payment optimization - they should think about building their business. Prime removes this friction so founders can focus on what they set out to do." * 1% cashback on all card payments, with a monthly cap of €1,000 per company * Zero foreign exchange fees on non-EUR transactions up to €20,000 per month * Two complimentary business lounge visits per quarter * Monthly eSIM data package (1GB) * Free express card delivery Finom Prime is launching initially in Germany and Italy, with additional European markets to follow. The subscription model charges €9.99 monthly per card, with pricing prorated based on activation date within the billing period. This launch follows Finom's recent expansion of services across Europe, including the introduction of AI Accounting in Germany, credit lines for SMEs in the Netherlands, as well as direct tax payment features for Italian users. The company continues to strengthen its position as a European fintech leader, serving over 200,000 business customers across Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands, and Italy.
