Energy trading firm Xpansiv raises fresh capital backed by Blackstone and Goldman Sachs

Sydney-born, New York-based energy trading firm Xpansiv has completed a capital raising in Europe. The company, which is eyeing an initial public offering, already counts Blackstone, Macquarie, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Goldman Sachs, Aware Super and Aramco Ventures among its backers. The capital raising is designed to support growth in Australia and globally. Xpansiv's founders argue the energy market is undergoing a significant global shift, driven partly by the artificial intelligence boom. Exein raises $270M at $1.7B valuation to secure physical AI systems at chip level

Italian startup Exein has raised $270 million at a $1.7 billion valuation to develop embedded cybersecurity for physical AI systems. The round was led by Headline, with participation from Sofina, Goldman Sachs, and others. Exein builds technology to secure hardware at the processor level. Its tech is already embedded in 2 billion chips globally, with customers including Nvidia, AWS, Mediatek, and Arm. The company plans to release a new agentic security architecture by year-end and a foundation model for tracking physical AI security in early 2027. The technology aims to block malicious execution at the processor level before attacks can run. Exein's ARR grew fourfold in the first half of 2026. The startup says it's currently Europe's most valuable privately-held security company.
