Job Overview
As a Business Development Representative at Mudflap, you will help small business owners save money on fuel by introducing them to our market-leading mobile based product that is used daily by tens of thousands of SMB trucking companies. Mudflap provides fuel discounts to owner-operators and small fleets at hundreds of independent fuel stops and chains.
What you’ll do:
- Identify, connect with, and convince new prospects to try Mudflap’s products
- Create the first impression of Mudflap’s brand with potential customers, resulting in trust and enthusiasm
- Work quickly and efficiently to produce a high volume of sales calls each day that result in new business for Mudflap
- Master and deliver compelling pitches that include: customer discovery, product demonstrations, objection handling, negotiation, and close
- Achieve and exceed monthly pipeline goals
About you:
- Demonstrated success in a fast-paced, transactional sales setting; trucking industry or financial services experience a plus but not required
- 2+ years of previous work experience in inside sales including experience with cold calling and prospecting
- Ability to capture a customer’s attention quickly; comfort and confidence pushing for results
- Top performer with a consistent history of success and overachieving in sales
- Empathetic with an innate curiosity about people and dedication to delighting customers above all else
- Able to build structure around oneself and be resourceful in order to thrive in a startup environment
- Career driven with a love for sales
- Highly organized with an ability to both balance multiple priorities without losing focus or productivity
- Naturally proactive, self-motivated and with outstanding attention to detail
- Resilience and an ability to overcome objections and obstacles with an openness to feedback

The base salary range for this role is $60,000 - $65,000 with an on-target commission of $20,000. This information reflects a base salary range for this position based on current market data, which may be subject to change as new market data becomes available. The candidate’s skills, experience, and other relevant factors will determine the exact compensation. This position may also be eligible for additional incentives such as equity awards or short-term incentives.
